Hotel Review: Impiana Resort Cherating

My other half and I went to Cherating as he has to attend a business meeting nearby. Stayed in this resort for 3D2N. Reserved Superior Deluxe with Seaview (all rooms are sea-view anyway) via Booking.com. Check-in was a breeze.

Though we really appreciate the beach side location, the resort looks old and do need upgrade/refurbishment.

It has the charm of the old days, as if staying in a village house. It has quite a big living area, and study desk overlooking the window with beach view. Very nice! Anyhow, people who expect modern layout or design may have different view about this resort.

The room was big with all the basic amenities required. With the price given, it is really good value for money. Some area can be improved like the zinc/aluminum roof that the resort use for to cover the balcony, when it was raining heavily it was noisy so maybe some insulation can be done to reduce it.

Staffs were attentive, polite and always smile. Ordered room service a few times. Reasonable delivery time. Food presentation and taste are satisfactory, only can get better if they can expand the menu. Nasi Goreng Impiana (both the Kampung and Chinese style) was delicious.

They served standard breakfast spread with international and local delicacies. Choice not that wide, but acceptable for me. We love their nasi lemak. Ordered omelet from the egg counter.

The hotel has a big swimming pool, but I did not have the chance to try it.

The only downside for this hotel is that the rooms already shown signs of worn out. For some, it may give eerie feeling due to the (almost) antique atmosphere in the room. It can be made even better if the ambient and some furniture be upgraded. They have to spend some money for the resort to look ‘fresh’ and more inviting. I can see some works done and ongoing to replace old/rotten wood planks, commendable and hopefully to continue and intensify.

However if you look for quiet and peaceful stay, this resort is good for you. I would recommend this place if you need a place to be secluded from hussle and bussle of city/town life. It may be beneficial for someone who wants full concentration and avoiding distractions (e.g.: writer, people on certain assignment).

Tip:
The resort does not have any elevator and lack of ramps to slide/roll your luggage, so avoid bringing large & heavy luggage if you cannot lift them.

Do request for room near to- and same level as the lobby if you have walking difficulties, or plan to bring large/heavy luggage.
